Marty Allen
Marty Allen was born in Australia and has been hand shaping boards in
California and Hawaii for the past 12 years. Starting with his first
board at the age of 15, he has now shaped over 12,000 quality boards
worldwide.
While growing up surfing on the Tweed Coast of New South Wales,
Australia, Marty Allen joined the Snapper Rocks Board riders Club. During his
involvement with the club, Marty competed in many contests while developing a
passion for shaping. He has designed boards for some of the most well-known Gold
Coast surfers such as, Shane Bevan, Alby Ross, Trevor Gleeve, Dean Bevan,
Dave Davison, and Jeremy Biles, to name a few. Marty then left the Club to
travel the world and broaden his shaping capabilities. He made sure to surf
the world's #1 surfing destinations to study the way specific boards
performed on different types of waves. During his travels Marty had the
opportunity to shape and learn alongside many well known shapers. From Hawaii's Mark
Angel to longboard pioneer Wayne Miyarda and California's Dennis Garvis, while also ghost shaping for Rusty. He now spends time between Carlsbad, California and Snapper Rocks,
Australia, manufacturing out of both locations.
